8 HOURS BEFORE THE MILLION PEOPLE MARCH

A few hours from now, the Million People March to Luneta will begin. It is not just a movement in Manila and in other key cities in the Philippines but has become a global indignation rally. Some groups can't wait and they have made their indignation felt online.

GMA News reports:
Filipino hackers defaced more than 30 government websites early Monday morning even as they called for the complete abolition of the pork barrel system.

Below is the list of defaced websites posted on the hacker group's Facebook page PrivateX:

I think it is just the beginning of a massive online activism. We can expect more hacked government websites.

Rappler has issued "ground rules" to be observed during the March:

However, these ground rules were questioned by netizens.

Rappler means well so there will be peace and order in Luneta later. If this map is endorsed by the "organizers", then it will be better than nothing:

You see, it is no longer a picnic in grassy Luneta. The people are tired of seemingly endless acts of corruption. It is about time to listen and heed to the voices of your Boss. To the people in the government, think of this before the day breaks:

By the way, lest the people forget. Luneta must be kept clean and undamaged so please be responsible towards your immediate environment. EcoWaste Coalition suggests:

  • Carry a personal litter bag or hold on to your rubbish until you find a bin.

  • Bring your own water in a refillable container to avoid buying bottled water.

  • Avoid disposable packages. Place food in recyclable containers that should be brought home.

  • Use reusable bags instead of disposable plastic bags.

  • Don't spit, throw chewing gum or toss cigarette filters on the ground.

  • Remind friends, family, and strangers to observe all the above.

Be safe, everyone!
